Tickets for the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier between Zambia and Ghana have been sold out.

Thousands of fans have queued up in the Zambia capital, Lusaka for the tickets which is in high demand ahead of the crunch tie.

Zambia authorities said there were no more tickets for the fixture at the newly constructed Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Expectation for the game has been heightened following Zambia historic triumph at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations where they beat the Black Stars enroute for the crown.

Coach Herve Renard’s men are also eager to return to winning ways after their surprised 2-0 defeat at Sudan in the opening group fixture.

“It is amazing the demand for tickets for this game because what is on the ground is that the Football Association might not be able meet the demand for tickets, an official of Zambia’s Ministry of Sports Senasiku Nawa told Accra-based Radio XYZ

“At all the outlets where the tickets are being sold, there are queues; people are queuing for hours just to get the tickets.

“Also this game has coincided with the opening of the Levy Mwanawasa stadium named in honour of our late president.

“This will the first international game to be held in this stadium. People want to see the stadium; they want to see the Black Stars and that they’re hoping that the memory of Levy Mwanawasa will inspire the boys and the nation like the way Gabon incident inspired them to lift the cup,”
