Hearts Executive Board chairman Togbe Afede XIV has promised to make the club giants on the African continent again.

The 200 African champions have struggled in the past six years where they have played catch-ups to local rivals Asante Kotoko.

The capital-based side have appointed experienced coach Herbert Addo to turn their season around and Board chairman Togbe Afede has promised to make the club attractive again.

“We are very determined to return to the top of Ghana football,” he said

“We have been there for many years but I must admit things have not really worked in the last few years.

“That is what we want to change going forward. We have started with the appointment of Herbert and we believe he can guide this team to win the League title this season.

“The players are hungry to succeed and I believe with the right attitude and approach, we shall attain our target.”

Hearts must first negotiate deals for old and new players ahead of the start of the season.

Influential captain Moro Abubakar has secured his floating status, which paves way for him to join any side of his choice.
