Officials of Togo's Football Federation have advanced talks with Ghanaian international midfielder Fatau Mohammed and are set for meeting with the Granada CF midfielder, according Accra-based Oman FM.

Togo Football Federation President Gabriel Ameyi and other officials are expected to hold a meeting with the 22-year-old midfield dynamo in the coming days.

Sources around the former Udinese player have confirmed he is opened to playing for Hawks if he is assured of his international future with the West Africans.

Ghana are yet to consider the player for invitation as his form was not very impressive at Rayo Vallecano where he spent the recently ended Spanish La Liga season on loan.

The Ghana Football Association have not declared any intentions of convincing the player to bid his time for a call-up from the Black Stars head coach Avram Grant.

Fatau will not be required to go through the process of nationality switch at FIFA to enable him play for Togo as he has not officially played for any of Ghana's national teams but would have to acquire a Togolese passport to cement his eligibility.

He will become about the fourth Ghanaian player to play for other African country following goalkeeper Daniel Yeboah's decision to play for the Ivory Coast and Kofi Danquah for Niger.
