Top Ghana stars arrive for decisive World Cup match-up against Zambia

Ghana's top stars including Michael Essien and captain Asamoah Gyan are among 12 players who have wasted no time in arriving in Accra for this week's decisive World Cup clash against Zambia.

Demonstrating how seriously they are taking Friday's match  other key players Kwadwo Asamoah, Mubarak Wakaso, Christian Atsu are among the Europe-based stars who arrived early for Friday's match in Kumasi.

Goalkeeping duo of Fatau Dauda and Razak Braimah as well as Mahatma Otoo and the defensive pair of Awal Mohammed and Rashid Sumaila have arrived in Accra.

The players who arrived early were in action for their clubs on Friday and Saturday paving the way for them to reach Accra by Sunday night.

Essien is making a return to the national team after a two-year absence with various niggling injuries which led to him pleading with the authorities for time to cement his playing time at club level.

The players who have arrived will start training on Monday evening with the rest of the squad expected to join by Monday night for a full camp.
