Toure hits brace in first game for Adjame to draw Kotoko fury

Ahmed Toure plays first game for Athletic FC Adjame

By Ameenu Shardow

Ahmed Toure has played his first game for Ivorian club Athletic FC Adjame in a move which will certainly infuriate Asante Kotoko.

The 24-year-old hit a brace in a 2-2 draw with Aboisso FC on Wednesday.

Toure has a day before claimed to be in possession of vital documents that will validate his move to the Ivorian second tier club.

Kotoko on the other hand remain adamant the 2010/11 Ghana Premier League MVP was still their player and thus could not feature for any club without their permission.

The two parties are now set for a serious legal tussle following Kotoko’s threat to take the matter up if Toure so much kicked a ball for any other club without Kotoko’s consent.

The player appears to have completely fallen out with the Ghanaian champions after enduring a very frustrating season last term where he was sparingly used.

This was on the back of a very impressive campaign the season before where he emerged the league’s MVP.

He however started the last season on a wrong-footing after he was punished by the club for overstaying a compassionate leave – a situation that has evolved into the player’s relationship deterioration with the club at present.

    • nanakash says:

What did MAX do…? tell us… if Max did wrong and won the league then I believe he did well. no one is bigger than Kotoko and a good coach will never allow a single player to be above all the rest… this is the same thing he did and was banned up north Africa… it was this same Kotoko who rescued him and he has chosen to go on the same path. I guess he is born to be on the wrong side always. I know Fifa is going to banned him. mark it.
