Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure will begin his first senior training with the club on Monday after he was suspended for playing truancy.

The Ivorian was banished to the reserves after returning late from a two-week compassionate leave.

He was granted permission to visit his ailing mother in his native Ivory Coast but exceeded the leave period.

He will join the rest of his team-mate at Monday’s training session ahead of their difficult away tie at champions Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old has since apologized to head coach Maxwell Konadu and his team-mates for his truancy.

He was docked a one-month salary and lost his place in the senior side as his punishment.

Toure is the club's leading scorer with six goals this season.
