Congolese giants TP Mazembe are preparing to offer Ghana winger Solomon Asante a long term contract that will fend off interest in the wing wizard.

Asante has begun the Congolese league season in blistering form and has been consistently linked with a move abroad after three seasons in Congo.

In his three seasons in Kinshaha the former Berekum Chelsea man has aided the Congolese giants to two league titles, a semi-final berth in the CAF Champions League and two Congolese cup.

Asante has enjoyed success also on the international scene with two AFCON competitions under his belt the first a fourth place finish and a second place finish recently in Equatorial Guinea.

“We are looking at holding our best players and Asante is certainly part of them,” A club insider said

“We are aware of the interest coming in from South Africa and other countries but we are certain that a compromise can be reached to keep here for a long time to come.”

Asante was linked to English Premier League side Stoke City but ultimately chose TP Mazembe.
