Much was said for three weeks of the possibility that Jose Mourinho returned to the bench of Real Madrid. On 17 December, the Portuguese coach was sacked by Chelsea and almost instantly, with Real Madrid immersed in the final period of Benitez rang Mourinho name as his replacement.
Finally came the sacking of Benites, but his place was taken by Zinedine Zidane. As reported in The Sun today, French was not only not the first choice of Florentino Perez, but after an initial rejection of Mourinho a first offer to coach the Real Madrid, insisted to try converter, to which the Portuguese coach responded negatively.
