Transfer Talk: Juventus could move for Arsenal's Wilshere

Published on: 15 February 2018

Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window, and Transfer Talk has the updates on all the latest rumours.

Juventus chase Wilshere

Italian giants Juventus have contacted Jack Wilshere's representatives about a potential switch to Turin in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The midfielder's contract expires at the end of the season, with Arsenal currently offering him a new deal on reduced wages.

And although it looks like Wilshere will eventually decide to stay at the Emirates Stadium, Juve's interest could prove tempting.

The Serie A champions had been chasing Leon Goretzka before the Schalke man signed a pre-contract agreement with Bayern Munich and, as their pursuit of Liverpool's Emre Can remains on hold, Wilshere is now being considered as an alternative.

Spurs plan to reward Pochettino

Tottenham hope to fend off interest in Mauricio Pochettino by offering the Argentine a bumper new contract, according to the Telegraph.

Pochettino's reputation continues to grow following Tottenham's 2-2 draw with Juventus in the Champions League, with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain monitoring the 45-year-old's situation.

But Spurs chairman Daniel Levy hopes to convince Pochettino to stay ahead of the club's move to a new £850 million stadium next season.

As well as sorting the manager's future, Tottenham also intend to arrange new deals for Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen as they look to keep the nucleus of the team together.

Real Madrid eye Alderweireld

Real Madrid are still planning to lure one Spurs star to the Bernabeu in the summer, though, with Toby Alderweireld emerging as a target for the reigning La Liga champions.

The Belgium international is yet to commit his future to Tottenham amid ongoing contract negotiations, and was left out of the squad for the Juventus clash on Tuesday.

The Daily Mirror now reports that Spurs could be forced to sell Alderweireld for as little as £25m in 2019 due to a release clause in his current deal.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are also interested in the defender as speculation about his future continues to mount.
