South African side Orlando Pirates have confirmed Ghana keeper Fatau Dauda will remain at the club for the upcoming season.

The 2014 World Cup Ghana goalkeeper has been linked with a move from the Absa Premier Soccer League side since impressing for the West Africans in Brazil.

Belgian giants Standard Liege are the latest club to emerge with interest in the glovesman but a Pirates insider has confirmed the 29-year-old will remain at the club for the upcoming season.

"We only read that in newspapers. We have not yet received any offer for Dauda," says Pirates' administrative manager.

"As far as I am concerned he is staying with Orlando Pirates this season."

Dauda made just  two starts and one substitute appearance for the Soweto giants in 2013/14 but it showed little impact on his form as he gave a good account of himself at the World Cup.

I knew there was no validity to this story from the get-go. Fatau does not have the quality for a Belgian top flight. Give us a break.

Is very clear that pirates are just toying and playing with dauda and they love to patronised him as well and I urged dauda to explored any clause in his contract and if is possible for him to terminate his contract based on that clause, he should do it! Pirates are not serious and their PR system sucks!

This should serve as a warning to our played that, the south Africa league is not a serious league and it was even quite ridiculous that a south African coach can say that, the south African league is too fast for Ghanaians! That was a ridiculous statement to say the least vecasue the last time I checked, the south African national team doesn't play fast football!! Our players should start to explore the Arabian league because that's where the money is!

self made S.A league is fast very fast and Ghanaian players are good and I admire their physic but like the Nigerian players they take time to get used to the pace on our game. as for Dauda we are blessed with good keepers in S.A from the onset I questioned the thinking behind pirates signing Dauda. he is on a 5 year contract worth 2.5 million US dollars a year so he should take the money and relax

Keep dreaming GSN. Dauda was largely seen as a terrible keeper overall after that unpardonable gift he gave Ronaldo. You want to beat Dauda, keep whipping European style crosses and he will flap at them gifting opposing teams in the process. If this serious flaw is not fixed, he cannot play in Europe.

South Africa... I respect your opinion very well and I know south African players are talented and very fast too just as Ghanaians but one of the coaches of south African clubs said that last year! According to him, he said that Ghanaians are not doing well in south African league because we are not fast with a great emphasis on a Ghanaian player who was playing in his clteam that time! Again, u are also right when u talked about adaptability as a player can only perform when he can adapts so why did that south African coach said that about Ghanaian players? Dauda has not been able to adapt well in south Africa because of the poor PR system in pirates! Is quite clear that, the PR system in pirates is up against dauda and never say nothing good about him! Maybe, the first choice keeper is their favorite and they work hard to put dauda down! Is very clear as crystal! Adaptability is not just about just living in an environment but is also involves LIVING WITH PEACEFUL MINDSET and dauda is been affected negatively by the poor PR sytem in pirates! Thirdly, u said he should take the money and remained there but I beg to differ from that! If dauda just concerns himself with the money he is taken in pirates, he ll ultimately loose his position in the bs as is obvious his lack of services in south Africa has affected him and should he continue to warm the bench in pirates, his career with the bs is over! In fact, he was luck to made the team to the WC and his continue stay in pirates LL doom him forever!! This is a keeper with a lot of potentials and he needs a new club now than ever considering the fact that he is been ridiculed, cursed and hooted at by both Ghanaian and pirates fans and a new club LL come in handy!! Dauda needs to move to a new club and he needs not to relax in pirates otherwise he LL lose everything by the end of his contract!
