Portuguese giants Benfica will make a last-gasp attempt to sign Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed from Russian side Kuban Krasnodar, according to reports in Portugal.

Benifca have maintained their interest interest in the 24-year-old and will try to make a last attempt to secure him before the summer transfer window shuts tonight.

The former Liberty Professionals midfielder is willing to move to Portugal but Benfica and Kuban must agree on a fee for the transfer to materialise with a loan move also a viable option.

Rabiu joined Kuban from French Ligue 1 side Evian Thonon Gaillard.
