Controversial midfielder Yahaya Mohammed has confirmed he is in talks with Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak following his contract expiration with rivals Asante Kotoko.
The former OG Nice player, 26, is a free agent after failing to renew his contract at Kotoko though the Porcupine Warriors have reported him to FIFA over a reportedly pre-contractual agreement with Libyan side Al Ittihad and slapped an indefinite ban on him.
However, the ban is not effective after the expiration of his contract and the 2014 Ghana CHAN squad member is being courted by a flock of clubs seeking to acquire his signature.
And, he has revealed Kotoko's bitter-rivals Hearts of Oak are in talks with him.
"I've been in touch with Togbe [Hearts' Executive Board Chairman] and I will reach a deal with him if I do not move outside," he told Accra-based Asempa FM.
Hearts are returning to Accra in the upcoming season as they are billed to play in the CAF Confederations Cup and they have targeted acquiring experienced hands to influence their course.
However, the Phobians might have halted talks pending the arrival of a new coach.
