French Ligue 1 giants Saint-Etienne have dropped interest in signing Ghana World Cup striker Jordan Ayew after early reports linked him to the ten-time Ligue 1 title-winners. 

Giants Olympique Marseille have confirmed the 22-year-old will not be part of their plans for the 2014/15 season putting numerous clubs are on the alert.

Saint-Etienne were one of the clubs linked with the striker who spent the second-half of last season at Sochaux on loan but in statement, the club have confirmed they will not sign the Ghana international.

“Jordan Ayew and Algerian striker Aissa Mandi of Stade Reims will all not be signed this summer,” a Saint-Etienne communications person told La Provence.

Jordan has been linked with stellar clubs including German Bundesliga sides Schalke 04 and Borussia Monchengladbach.
