Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu

Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has been named in AfricanFootball.com's best XI performers from this past week’s action around the globe.

The Udinese scored in his side's come-from-behind 2-1 win at Bologna in the Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

Goalkeeper:

Mohamed Zemmamouche (Algeria/USM Alger)

Mohamed Zemmamouche’s superb performance for USMA – which helped them secure a 2-1 away win over Al Hilal in the first leg of their CAF Champions League semifinal and included a penalty save – sees him claim the goalkeeper spot ahead of Cameroon’s Carlos Kameni, who kept a clean sheet for Malaga against Real Madrid.

Defenders:

Serge Aurier (Ivory Coast/Paris Saint-Germain)

The Ivory Coast right-back played the full 90 minutes and scored the fourth and final goal as Paris Saint-Germain came from a goal down to thrash Nantes 4-1 away in France’s Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Rooi Mahamutsa (South Africa/Orlando Pirates)

Rooi Mahamutsa gave an epic performance in the heart of defence for Orlando Pirates in their 1-0 win over Al Ahly in the CAF Confederation Cup, repeatedly repelling attacks from the Egyptian giants and keeping their dangerous forwards under wraps.

Alaya Brigui (Tunisia/Etoile du Sahel)

Tunisian defender Alaya Brigui scored Etoile du Sahel’s third goal and played a major role in their stunning 5-1 win over Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Midfielders:

Marouane Tej (Tunisia/Etoile du Sahel)

Another Etoile du Sahel player who had a fantastic performance in the CAF Confederation Cup this past weekend, scoring two goals (including the early opener which set the tone) as his team trounced Zamalek 5-1 in the first leg of their semifinal tie.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu (Ghana/Udinese)

Ghana’s Emmanuel Abyemang-Badu played a key role in Udinese registering a 2-0 away win over Bologna in the Italian Serie A on Sunday. The Black Stars player scored the opening goal just past the hour mark.

Cheikhou Kouyate (Senegal/West Ham United)

Cheikhou Kouyate scored his third Premier League of the season as West Ham United drew 2-2 at home to Norwich City. The Senegal midfielder’s strike arrived with virtually the last kick of the game to see the Hammers salvage a point.

Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Roma)

A consummate attacking performance from Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, as he scored a goal to help Roma to a comfortable 5-1 win over Carpi in the Italian Serie A on Saturday. Ivory Coast’s Gervinho also scored in the match.

Wahbi Khazri (Tunisia/Bordeaux)

Tunisian Wahbi Khazri put in arguably the best performance of any African outfield player this past weekend, scoring the opening goal and providing two assists as Bordeaux trounced Olympique Lyon 3-1 in France’s Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Forwards:

Rudy Gestede (Benin/Aston Villa)

Rudy Gestede scored two goals for Aston Villa in their 3-2 loss at Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday. The Benin striker has netted three times in the Premier League this season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon/Borussia Dortmund)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is up to nine goals from seven Bundesliga matches (all of which he has scored in) after netting twice in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 draw with Darmstadt on Sunday.
