Ghanaian midfielder Enock Adu Kofi and his Malmo FF side are on the verge of elimination from the Uefa Champions League after suffering a 4-0 battering at Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night. 

The 25-year-old central midfielder played the entire regulation minutes of the game at the Arena Lviv in Lvov as the Ukrainian giants made mockery of the dethroned Allsvenskan champions.

Both sides created chances in a lively first period before Oleksandr Gladky fired the hosts in front, scrambling the ball over the line after his initial header was parried by Johan Wiland as Shakhtar recorded their first win of the campaign.

Adu had helped Malmo bag their first win in the reverse fixture at the Swedbank Stadion on the a night when they were reduced to ten men following the sending off of after 33-year-old midfielder Kari Arnason was sent off for a second bookable offence, Malmo succumbed to a heavy defeat and put their hopes in the competition on the line.

With two games to spare, Malmo must now beat Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to stand any chance of progressing to the next round.

Real Madrid who recorded a fortuitous win over PSG at the Santiago Bernabeu have qualified from Group A and now head the session with 10 points. The Spanish giants who are record winners of the competition have not conceded a goal in the competition since the start of the season.
