The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has revealed that the national team will camp in Niamey, Niger before facing Ghana in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier.

Ghana will host the Cranes on September 5th in Kumasi in one of the Group E matches of the Afcon qualifiers.

“We have set out that the team camps in Niamey before flying out to Kumasi on September 3,” Decolas Kiiza, the Uganda FA Head of Finance disclosed to African Football.com.

Kiiza said they picked on the Niamey option because the second alternative of camping in Bamako had some issues. “We shall finalize with the travel arrangement and announce on Wednesday,” added Kiiza.

The Cranes who last qualified for the 1978 Afcon ejected Madagascar and Mauritania to qualify for the Group stage. They are pooled together with Togo, Guinea and the Black Stars of Ghana who are fresh from participating in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, the Uganda Cranes Coach who also guided them to qualification for the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), is expected to announce his squad on Wednesday in Kampala.
