Uganda have been boosted by the return to training of their two players strikerà Yunus Ssentamu and goalkeeperà Dennis Onyango after the duo suffered injuries while training with the squad ahead of Saturday's clash with Ghana.
Striker Yunus Ssentamuââ¬â¢s chances of making it for Saturdayââ¬â¢s Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana still hang by the thread although the 19-year-old lightly worked alone on the sidelines of the teamââ¬â¢s training session at Namboole yesterday.
But chances of goalkeeper Dennis Onyangoââ¬â¢s recovery brightened after the Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper trained. Both players twisted their ankles in Tuesdayââ¬â¢s session.
Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic, however, says the aforementioned will continue being monitored until the last minute.
That aside, the team is buzzing with the arrival of skipper Andy Mwesigwa, who trained with the rest after arriving from his Kazakhstan club the night before.
Portugal-based winger Kizito Luwagga, who had only witnessed his mates work out the previous evening, also worked out.
Micho and his men know only victory over the Black Stars will keep them in with a qualification chance.
Yet Uganda - two losses, a win and draw to their name, face a team yet to lose a game. But Micho is confident it is not beyond them to put one over the four-time African champions.
ââ¬ÅOne moment of brilliance could decide the match on Saturday,â⬠he told Daily Monitor after Tuesdayââ¬â¢s training, adding, in reference to the back-to-back 1-0 October defeats to Togo, ââ¬ÅWhatever October took away from us November can return to us.
ââ¬ÅRespect to Ghana, they are a very good team with very talented players. But it is not about names.
ââ¬ÅI have full confidence in my players and we shall stretch ourselves to the limits. We really want to get the best out of ourselves and look forward to qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.ââ¬
