Uganda Cranes defender Joseph Ochaya has confirmed that he will not be heading back to Asante Kotoko in Ghana.

Ochaya told AfricanFootball.com in an interview at the Omondi Stadium on Tuesday that he is not ready to sign a new contract and will not go back to complete the remaining months on his contract.

The former KCCA FC player said after having a difficult time with the Ghana League Champions together with them frustrating his move to a German side, he has called it quits.

Ochaya who featured for the Cranes in the recent second round 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (CHAN) said he is determined to stay away from Asante Kotoko.

He explained that after successful trials in German with Greuther Furth FC last June, Asante Kotoko refused to let him go because they demanded for a lot of money and have since been frustrating him.

“I cannot work like this and even if they pay me lots of British Pounds, I will not go back to Asante Kotoko,” said Ochaya.

Greuther Furth FC where relegated from the Germany Bundesliga side after the 2013/2013 season where they failed to impress.

Ochaya joined Asante Kotoko in 2012 from KCCA FC for US$30,000 as replacement for Baba Rahman, who left the Club for another Germany side Hoffenheim.

He had a decent campaign with Asante Kotoko in his two seasons, being influential in Kotoko’s league triumphs.
