Ulsan Hyundai sign Orsic ahead of AFC Champions League Group Stage

Seoul: AFC Champions League 2017 hopefuls Ulsan Hyundai have confirmed the signing of Croatian midfielder forward Mislav Orsic ahead of the latest edition of Asia’s premier club competition.

Orsic moves to the K League Classic side from Chinese top-flight outfit Changchun Yatai, and becomes Ulsan’s fourth overseas player joining fellow Croatian midfielder Ivan Kovacec, Austrian defender Richard Windbichler and Australian midfielder Dimitri Petratos at the club.

The 24-year-old former Croatia U-21 international is no stranger to Korea Republic however, having spent two seasons with Jeonnam Dragons - where he scored 14 goals in 49 appearances - before signing for Changchun last year.

Ulsan, who finish fourth in the 2016 domestic standings, qualified for the Group Stage of this year’s AFC Champions League thanks to a sensational Play-off penalty shootout defeat of Hong Kong’s Kitchee on Tuesday.

The 2012 AFC Champions League winners will now play in Group E alongside Japan’s Kashima Antlers, Muangthong United from Thailand and Australian side Brisbane Roar of Australia.
