Under-fire referee Samuel Sukah adamant penalty decision against Kotoko was right

Under-fire referee Samuel Sukah is adamant that his penalty call against Asante Kotoko in the Super Clash league game on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium was a right decision.

The trained teacher has been under enormous pressure in the last two days following a late controversial penalty awarded to Hearts of Oak in Sunday’s much anticipated clash after he adjudged defender Ahmed Adams to have handled to the ball in the box, which was aptly converted by Vincent Atinga.

“What is a dubious penalty, I don’t understand why they call the penalty a dubious one, it was a right decision I took,” he told Peace FM.

“I was standing few meters away from the scene, why would I cheat any of the two sides especially when I know what it entails when it comes to games between the two teams.

“The defender threw his body and the ball struck his arm.”

“I am a Christian and in my religion, forbid cheating therefore I wouldn’t do that, so that decision I took was the right decision.”
