Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has been caught up in a blackmail plot after a one-night stand with a ‘desperate’ University student, it has been alleged.

The lady at the centre of the brewing controversy, Sarah Kwabla, is threatening to leak a supposed explicit video and audio involving the two during their encounter in February this year if her demands for a furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly stipend of $1,000 for postnatal care are not fulfilled, NEWS-ONE has reported.

The 22-year-old University of Ghana student has claimed she got pregnant after she spent a ‘no hold barred’ evening at her house with the Al Ain attacker and wants him to assume responsibility.

Lawyer for Gyan, Kissi Agyabeng confirmed on Accra-based Kasapa FM on Wednesday that his client had a consensual sex with the lady and agreed to pay her GH¢2000 monthly to cater for her antenatal pending the determination of a scheduled paternity test yesterday (Tuesday).

But the woman failed to turn up at the medical facility to determine whether the iconic Ghanaian figure is the father of the baby despite a substantial amount of money paid as deposit.

According to NEWS-ONE, the age of the pregnancy did not tally with the date she had the sexual rendezvous with the Black Stars skipper, to raise serious suspicion about her real motives.

But lawyer for the level 300 student of the country’s Premier University, Maurice Ampaw is alleging rape and sodomy in the ensuing episode but Gyan’s lawyer Kissi Agyabeng has rubbished the claims.

“It’s no issue and it’s a shame some people want to make a mountain out of it. We have been civil with the girl but it’s unfortunate the issue has been mixed up,” he told Accra-based Kasapa FM.

“The girl attempted to blackmail him (Gyan) and I ordered Anim Addo (Asamoah Gyan’s manager) to report the matter at the Odorkor Police station.

“We have been civil during the discussion but she kept making wild demands and threatening to blackmail him. That’s something I was not going to allow.

“There are remedies for her in law if she feels strongly about it but to resort to blackmail is something we’ll not allow to happen.”

With Gyan perceived to be a rich footballer, it’s suspected the lady at the centre of controversy has set a plot in motion to blackmail him in a bid to enrich herself at his expense.

Public disclosure of sexual intercourse between partners is a serious criminal offence in Ghana with damning consequences for culprits.

Gyan is currently on holidays in his native country where he has been splashing cash on charity.

He bagged a sensational brace for the Black Stars during a 2017 opening Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius in Accra two weeks ago.
