Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is rededicating himself towards reaching greater heights in the UAE after signing a two-year extension to his contract at Al Ain.

The Black Stars captain committed himself to a further two years of his contract with the Dubai-based club which was originally to expire in 2016.

Gyan has been top scorer of the UAE top flight since his arrival from English club Sunderland in 2011 on an initial loan deal.

The 28-year-old’s form with his country has also flourished since he moved to the Gulf and now boasts a record of being the all-time leading scorer for Ghana and also the African with the most goals in the history of the World Cup.

Gyan however feels there is more he can do for the Boss even though he has already proven himself worthy beyond measure in the UAE.

“I’ve received all the support since I came here and without my teammates’ help I would not have achieved what I have achieved,” he said.

“I’m still young and have much to do for the team.

“I said before I came to UAE that I wanted to prove I was up to the challenge.

“I came from one of the strongest leagues in the world and hit great achievements with my colleagues here.”
