Harrisburg City Islanders defender Abass Mohammed marked his debut for Ghana in their 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia in an international friendly on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old replaced Lumor Agbenyenu in the second half and gave a good account of himself against the Green Falcons.

Young Boys defender Kasim Nuhu opened the scoring in the first half before Osama Hawsawi put the ball at the back of his own net.

Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey put the icing on the cake with a real beauty in the 88th minute.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah gave opportunities to several players as he continues to build his team after missing out on the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Mohammed has made 19 appearances for the City Islanders in his first season with the club, and leads the team with 61 tackles at an 81.3 percent success rate.

He also sits third on the team with 53 interceptions, and has averaged 42.6 passes per 90 minutes.
