Canadian side Vancouver Whitecaps have honoured Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie for his 100th Major League Soccer start feat back in May.

Koffie played a game that was invigorating and exhilarating on the day and scored in the win over Real Salt Lake at BC Place.

He became the first Whitecaps player to reach that milestone.

Before training on Tuesday, he was presented with a framed No.28 jersey.

The 23-year-old , who is working on obtaining his Canadian citizenship, started 28 games as a 19-year-old in the Caps’ inaugural MLS season and 28 more the next season.

It was down to 21 in 2013, although he did post career highs in goals (3) and assists (3) and 17 last season when Matias Laba arrived to anchor the defensive midfield.
