Vauxhall to end sponsorship of Home Nations

Vauxhall will end a seven-year sponsorship deal with England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland when its current agreement expires after the 2018 World Cup.

The car manufacturer has been the leading partner of the Home Nations since 2011 but revealed in a statement issued to Press Association Sport that all four links will be severed next year.

Vauxhall said in its statement that it had "agreed to explore other opportunities to continue its relationship with the FAs beyond the conclusion of the existing contracts".

In the statement Vauxhall also spoke of the pride of working alongside all four nations, and said it is now looking to move resources into other avenues.

The Football Association confirmed in its own statement that it is working on a "lower-level" partnership with Vauxhall for after the World Cup in Russia.
