Veteran AshantiGold goalie George Owu says he's proved his critics wrong

AshantiGold SC safest pair of hands George Owu says he has proved his critics wrong after putting up a remarkable performances in the club's win over Hearts of Oak in week 20 of the Ghana Premier League despite his advanced years.

The veteran shot-stopper has been one of the most outstanding performers for AshantiGold in their purple patch form, keeping four clean sheets in his last five outings, including Wednesday's 1-0 victory over high-flying premier league giants Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The former Ghana international says his performance in the win against the Phobians suggest that he still has a lot to offer despite people labeling him as "old man".

“Some people say I am old but I was able to prove to them in the game against Hearts of Oak that I am still good,” Owu said.

“I’m not old as you can see, I believe you all saw it yourself and people must stop calling me as an old player”

Ashgold are unbeaten in their last four GPL games.
