Veteran Ghana striker Peter Ofori Quaye says he was let down by the performance of Ghana in the just ended world youth championship in New Zealand.

The Satellites crashed out of the competition at the round of sixteen stage, the first time in history the team has failed to reach the last eight once they have qualified for the competition.

People have tried to justified the teams exit with claims that the U20 is a developmental competition and the target should be to harness raw talents but Ofori Quaye who was a member of Ghana’s U 20 side that finished 4th in Malaysia in 1997 holds the view that the team was disappointing.

“The team did not live up to the expectations of the entire Ghanaian people,” Quaye said

“Nothing seemed to work for them in the game against Mali and that was extremely disappointing.”
