Veteran Ghanaian coach J.E Sarpong has thrown his weight behind Israeli coach Avram Grant after taking part in a seminar organized by the Black Stars boss.

Sarpong who has been hugely critical of the appointment and some comments made by the former Chelsea and former West Ham boss has rated him high after attending a seminar organized by the Ghana national team coach.

Grant who only went through half way a two year contract with the Ghana Football Association last week has received backing from the nation’s best technical men for the job done in his first year as boss of the national team.

Sarpong one of the few who had their reservations regarding the appointment of Grant says it was thoughtful of the manager to put up a seminar marking his one year as boss of the Black Stars.

“I think he did a very good job by organizing the seminar and I am impressed,” Sarpong told Accra based CITI-FM

“I have never said I would not attend his seminar what I said was that I would not attend a coaching course organized by him.”

“As for his one year as Black Stars coach to be fair to him he has done a very good job but let’s still hope that the second year is better.”

Sarpong is one of the few coaches in Ghana who have earned a huge reputation for unearthing and development of budding talents as the nation’s current skipper Asamoah Gyan was unearthed by him during his high school days.
