Veteran coach J.E Sarpong has advised embattled Mohammed Polo to quit Hearts.

Polo has come under intense pressure for quit the club following their 3-0 defeat at home to All Stars in the First Capital Plus Premier League.

The iconic Hearts figure has lost faith with the teeming supporters who have been large in clamouring for his dismissal.

However the former Ghana international is adamant to quit, insisting he will not abandon the club under duress.

But the former Liberty Professionals trainer has urged Polo quit the club to save his own career.

“I will simply advise him to leave the club. You cannot work in peace if the fans do not want you,” Sarpong said.

“It’s obvious he’s going through a lot of difficult times at the club and under recent circumstances, it’s will be proper for him to leave.

“It will be difficult to achieve results when you don’t have the backing of the players and the fans.

“It will simply not work. The wisest thing to do is to quit and leave.”

Polo has accused some senior players of undermining him at the club which he claims has accounted for their unflattering campaign so far.
