Medeama SC experienced defender Joseph Hendricks claims he has more years ahead and insist he will retire from the game in 2016.

The ex-Asante Kotoko central defender was influential in Medeama's position in the top four of the just ended Ghana Premier League.

At 31, age is catching up on the former Hapoel Iron Rishon LeZion FC and AshantiGold player.

But the rugged centre-back is refusing to throw in the towel by claiming he has five more years to be involved actively before he quit the game.

He told Oman FM: ''Mark my words; I will continue to play till the next five years before I decide to call it quit. The desire and spirit to continue playing is much alive and I haven’t give hopes of continuing to play.''

''I am not worn out at all and all those who say that may not know the kind of player I am. I still feel very strong and be part of this dream at Medeama.''

Hendricks was voted the 2001 Sports Writers Association of Ghana Defender of the Year.
