Andre Ayew dedicated his Barclays Premier League August Player of the Month award to his Swansea City team-mates, insisting it was a "collective" effort.
Ayew was picked for the first award of the season ahead of team-mate Bafe Gomis along with David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov (both Manchester City), Chris Smalling (Manchester United) and Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City).
The Ghanaian winger has made a stunning start to life in the Premier League, with a debut goal against Chelsea among three strikes in four games so far.
He also provided a superb assist for Gomis to slot home the winner against Manchester United at the Liberty last time out.
And Ayew was quick to salute the key role his team-mates have played in allowing him to settle quickly into life at his new club.
ââ¬ÅItââ¬â¢s a great feeling, but this award comes from hard work and support by the whole squad,â⬠said Ayew.
ââ¬ÅItââ¬â¢s more of a collective award rather than an individual award because weââ¬â¢ve worked very hard from pre-season until now.
ââ¬ÅIt shows there is a lot of quality and determination in this team. The most important thing for me is the unity and team spirit we have shown.
ââ¬ÅThe guys have really helped me by telling me how the league works and by giving me confidence to do what I can do. I can work even harder and do more.
ââ¬ÅIf we continue in the same way a lot of our players can pick up awards, but what is important is that Swansea continue to win games.ââ¬
The Swans head to newly-promoted Watford on Saturday, with a number of Garry Monkââ¬â¢s players having returned this week from a busy international period.
And Ayew insists the good work of the opening month is firmly at the back of his mind.
ââ¬ÅWeââ¬â¢ve made a good start together. Now the month has gone, so we are thinking about the games coming up,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅIn football you quickly forget what you have done because you are thinking about what you want to achieve now.
ââ¬ÅWe have not achieved anything yet though, and every day we will look to improve.ââ¬
Ayew has quickly become a fans favourite at his new club, with his work rate and link-up play proving a big hit with the Swans supporters on top of his strike rate.
And he wanted to thank the Jack Army for giving him such a warm Welsh welcome.
ââ¬ÅAt Marseille it was different as I was at home and I was one of them because I grew up there and played for the junior team,â⬠he added.
ââ¬ÅHere it is different as I had to start afresh. In football, when you have succeeded somewhere the biggest fear is when you leave as youââ¬â¢re starting all over.
ââ¬ÅComing here was a big challenge, but Iââ¬â¢m glad the fans are happy with me â⬓ thatââ¬â¢s very important for me and I thank them for their support. I will continue fighting on the pitch to make them happy with myself and the team.
ââ¬ÅFor them to be happy means we are getting good results.ââ¬
