Ghana hate figure Luis Suarez’s name was twice booed by an audience comprising mainly fellow players at the PFA awards in England.

The Liverpool striker, currently serving a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, was jeered following the announcement that he had been selected in the Premier League team of the year.

Suarez, who used his hand to prevent Ghana from reaching the World Cup semi-fnials, was booed for a second time when his place on the shortlist for the Player of the Year award was read out.

The 26-year-old did not attend the awards.

The Uruguayan striker rightly earned a place in the Team of the Season following his best ever season in England.

However, when announced in the team, fellow footballers, managers and journalists booed.

Later on, Suarez was booed once again when mentioned as a nomination for Players’ Player of the Year.
