German-born Ghanaian Karim Bellarabi has focused his delight on Bayer Leverkusen's stunning win at Borussia Dortmund despite scoring the fastest goal in the Bundesliga's history.

Bellarabi broke a record held by Bayern Munich's Giovanni Elber with a strike in 9 seconds from kick-off to silence the sold-out Signal Iduna-Park crowd before he assisted Stefan Kießling to wrap up the win in the 95th minute.

The strike, which resulted straight from kick-off, proofed the impetus for Leverkusen as they went ahead to win. Bellarabi struck after only nine seconds, beating the previous quickest goals scored by Giovane Elber and Ulf Kirsten by two seconds to leave the Westfalenstadion shellshocked.

"It's a great win," Bellarabi made a short statement on his Facebook page.

Bellarabi was born to a Ghanaian father and a German mother and has represented the European giants at youth level but his father has assured he could convince him to switch his nationality and play for Ghana.
