A referee presiding over Italy’s Terza Categoria match between Castel San Niccolo and Fortis Arezzo showed extreme calm when a player shockingly lashed out after being shown a red card.
The ninth division fixture held just out side of Florence looked to be any other normal game, however, things took a dramatic turn as Castel San Niccolo’s No 11 decided to kick out at the referee upon receiving his marching orders, violently slamming his boot into the official’s calf.
Rather than retaliate, the referee showed great restraint and professionalism by standing his ground, before simply walking away unmoved, like a scene out of the Terminator movies.
Arezzo then went on to win the match 4-0, storming past their ten men opposition.
