Video: Muntari prays for Black Stars at Ngouoni mosque

Sulley Muntari observed his Friday prayers at a local mosque in Ngouoni and sought divine intervention ahead of Ghana’s Nations Cup game against Mali.

Muntari, a devout Muslim was granted permission by officials to leave camp.

The Ghana midfielder made a passionate appeal to the Imam and the community to offer special prayers for the Black Stars in Saturday’s second Group D against the Eagles.

The 27-year-old also interacted with some local fans who were impressed with the Inter Milan player on his high level of religiousity.

Muntari was also joined by members of the Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MUSIGHA), who arrived in Ngouoni on Thursday.

The player also pledged to acquire a public address system for the mosque before the team’s final group game against Guinea.

Ghana currently top Group D on three points, same as Mali but lead on the alphabetical order rule.
