Wa: Floods render many homeless

Several people in Wa have been rendered homeless following a downpour which begun in the early hours of Sunday.

Properties worth thousands of cedis were also submerged in the floods that resulted from the downpour which lasted nine hours.

According to Joy News correspondent, Rafik Salam, several homes were flooded leaving most of the victims no option than to put up with friends and relatives in near-by communities.

According to Wa Municipal Director of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Alhasan Yakubu, efforts were being made to collaborate with the municipal assembly to provide the victims with some relief items.

Mr. Yakubu appealed to the government to come to the aid of the victims.
