WAFA Technical Director Sam Arday plays down club's league title challenge
WAFA SC beat Asante Kotoko 2-0 in Sogakope in their league opener.

The Technical Director of West Africa Football Academy [WAFA] Sam Arday has played down his side’s challenge for the league title after picking six points in three games.

The Sogakope-based club in the ongoing Ghana Premier League have registered the biggest score line following their 5-0 thumping of Hasaacas.

With the kind of delicious football being exhibited by the club, bookmakers of the local league have tipped the Academy lads to challenge for the ongoing domestic top-flight title.

But the club’s technical director and the man known as the ‘Multi-System Man’ due to his in-depth knowledge in the game has stated that the league is young and his team can’t be labeled as title contenders.

“It is only three games into the season and despite playing very well you can’t say you will win the league,” he told Onua FM.

“The league is very young and it will not be correct to say you will win the league. It will be like you are dreaming.”
