Asante Kotoko defender Edwin Tuffuor Frimpong says his side’s 2-0 defeat to WAFA at Sogakope in the opening league match of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League was a painful loss.

The Porcupine Warriors were put to sleep at the Sogakope Park after they were outrun by the academy boys at the Red Bull Arena and conceded two goals at the end of the game.

Despite going down 2-0 before an hour mark, the dethroned league champions dominated play but they fluffed the chances created.

And Tuffuor Frimpong who got substituted in the first half due to an injury has stated that their 2-0 loss to WAFA was very painful.

“We went into the game with high hopes but we lost the game, it was very painful. After we conceded the two goals we came into the game strongly but we couldn’t find the back of the net.

“It is a game, we have to put the loss behind us and focus on our next league game against AshantiGold, “Tuffuor Frimpong stressed after the game.
