Ghana international winger Wakaso Mubarak got his maiden playing minutes after the AFCON 2015 tournament as he came off the bench to play for Celtic in their 1-0 home reverse against St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old entered the fray at the Celtic Park before the start of the second-half as a replacement for Wales international Adam Matthews.

While Celtic failed to recover from a 54th minute goal scored by Danny Swanson, Wakaso was enjoying his first game minutes after helping Ghana finish 2nd at the 2015 AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Celtic boss Ron Delia deployed Wakaso as a lateral defender as he added more aggression to Celtc's defensive and offensive plans on the flanks.

Prior to Wednesday's game, Wakaso had sat on the Celtic bench four times since rejoining them.
