Kuala Lumpur: Al Nasr forward Wanderley has been named the Toyota Player of the Week for the quarter-final first leg of the 2016 AFC Champions League after netting a brace as his team beat Qatari side El Jaish 3-0 in Doha.

Making his continental debut, Al Nasr’s summer signing Wanderley broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time before Burkina Faso international Jonathan Pitroipa doubled the lead on 54 minutes.

The Brazilian scored his second with six minutes remaining to wrap up a resounding victory ahead of the return fixture in Dubai on September 14.

Wanderley completed 19 out of 27 passes and won two duels to accumulate an 8.7 rating as Al Nasr took a giant step towards reaching their first ever AFC Champions League semi-final.

Pitroipa’s efforts in the same match were also recognised as he was second on the rankings this week.

As well as his goal, the 30-year-old former Hamburg SV star was credited with the assist for Wanderley’s first of the night.

The Al Nasr midfielder also completed 24 out of 27 passes in Doha to register an 8.0 rating.

The final three of this week’s top five all come from FC Seoul, with the K-League Classic side’s forward line impressing in their 3-1 AFC Champions League quarter-final first leg win over China’s Shandong Luneng.

Korea Republic striker Park Chu-young leads the trio after scoring and picking up the Man of the Match award at Seoul World Cup Stadium to attract a 7.9 rating.

Park is closely followed by striker partner Dejan Damjanovic who netted the opener and was credited with a 7.8 rating, while substitute Adriano rounds out the top five after coming off the bench to score his tournament-leading 12th goal and earn a 7.3 rating.
