Abdul Majeed Warris scored a brace on Friday night in Sweden
Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris bagged a brace while compatriot Nasiru Mohammed came off the bench to score again as Hacken claimed a 5-2 victory over Ã…tvidaberg on Friday.
Waris underlined his devastating scoring form by restoring Hacken’s lead on 58 minutes after Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Abubakari cancelled out Makondele’s opener.
His first time effort was blocked by the visitors’ goalkeeper but he maintained his composure to coolly finish off.
Mohammed increased the tally for Hacken in the 64th minute with an audacious back heel effort which proved too strong for goalkeeper Gustav Jansson to deal with.
The former Ghana U17 captain had replaced Jonas Bjurstrom six minutes earlier.
Waris then set up Makondele for Hacken’s fourth goal after running solo on the right flank.
He displayed great pace and irresistible physique to race clear from distance before finishing off.
The double has taken Waris’ tally to 17 in the league and 19 in all competition this season.
Waris has been named in Ghana 24-man squad for the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi at home on 8 September.
Three days later he is expected to feature against Liberia in a friendly to be played in Monrovia.

Akwasi ,plz play him and Gyan for this game
THIS WARIS GUY KWRAAAA
I’m yet to see anything special ’bout this Waris guy. Looking at all the goals he’s scored, there’s nothing impressive and convincing that we’ve found the missing link to our striking position. However, he keeps playing and the goals come. May be he knows how to position himself well on the field of play. Let’s give him another chance and see what he can offer.
@Pow, go watch him play n u will the kind of player he is. Essien just signed a season long loan for Real Madrid. Good luck bro…
Breaking news…..
Essien sighned one year loan deal with Real Madrid chelsea comfirmed that on their official site
A good move, Chelsea would regret it. Mourinho knows Essien better than any coach, as a matter of fact he brought him to Chelsea. Wishing Essien all best with Madrid, he may come out of loan with a trophies.
He is an intelligent player that position himself well and importantly understands the art of scoring goals. He is neither flamboyant nor stylish when he want to score, he just put the ball at the back of the net. I am happy for him, Boakye Yiadom, Jordan, Clottey and Gyan. With strong midfield of Atsu, Quincy, Kwadwo and Dede, we can always outscore our opponents. Everything comes down to Akwasi Appiah’s selection and formation.
He is going to be a big star for Ghana.
Mourinho will use Essien as a right back. Appiah should let Essien play for Ghana too. But no, Appiah never calls up Essien.

This Waris guy is special, he has incredible pace, he runs well off the ball and his finishing is clinical. He has good foot speed and makes excellent cuts around the penalty area and above all he has poise and knows how to finish. I am hoping that Coach Appiah gives him some playing time. I know for a fact that he will be playing Jordan instead. Waris is going to be the best striker Ghana has produced in a few years to come. He is the real deal and that is why some bigger Clubs are starting to scout him.
If Appiah knows talent he will rank the Ghana strike force in this order. Gyan, Waris, Yiadom, Clottey, and Jordan.
I am glad Ghana finally has a good strike force.
For Ghana to return to its winning ways Coach Appiah has to return to the 4-5-1 formation. Use 4 full backs, 3 defensive mids, 2 attacking mids and 1 lone striker. Ghana must play defensive and win ugly. Play defensive and counter attack with speed and precision. Forget about entertaining soccer else you will be watching the World Cup in Brazil on television.
This is the coaching style that Renard used to beat Ghana twice.
