Ghana international Frank Acheampong is still keen on moving to England despite being part of the squad for Belgian giants Anderlecht in their pre-season tour of Austria.

The speedy winger was heavily linked with a move to English sides Watford and Newcastle United at the start of the summer.

His excellent showing for Anderlecht and for Ghana in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations sparked interest from the two English sides.

However the move has not moved beyond the rumour stage and Acheampong has travelled with the Belgian side for their pre-season in Austria.

But with plenty of time before the transfer window shuts at the end of August, there is plenty of time for a deal to be done for Acheampong to move.

The speedy Ghanaian winger has also expressed his desire to play in the English Premier League next season which means an approach from Watford will be welcomed by the player.

The 22-year-old left-sided player helped Anderlecht finish third on the Belgian Pro League standings during the 2015/16 campaign.

Acheampong joined the Purple and Whitefrom Thai Premier League side Buriram United three years ago and has been a key player for the club.

He played in 28 Belgian Pro League matches for Anderlecht - scoring five goals in the process as a midfielder.
