Head Coach of league leaders Aduana Stars, Yusif Abubakar has revealed how his half time team talk was the catalyst for their victory against Inter Allies at the El-Wak stadium.

Aduana had to come back from a goal down when Isaac Twumasi gave Inter Allies a first time lead.

An inspired second half performance from Aduana saw Nathaniel Asamoah leveling the game, before Derrick Sasraku scored a dramatic winner in injury time to hand the Dormaa based side all three points.

Abubakar says he noticed a bit of complacency in his side during the first half, and had a strong word with them during the half time interval, hence the turnaround in their performance.

“If you look at the first half, our players were complacent and they thought they could easily beat Inter Allies,” Abubakar said

“So during the recess I made them understand that they had to be mentally tough, and that we had to leave with at least a point, but I was hitting on winning the match.”

“When we came back to the second half you could see the change in mentality from the players because of their mental toughness,” he said after the game.”

Aduana are now 2 points clear of nearest rivals Kotoko at the top of the table after six games, and remain unbeaten in the league.
