Black Queens captain Mercy Myles says her teammates  are happy with the assurance given by President John Mahama in the payment of their outstanding bonuses.

The Ghana women’s team has accepted a US$ 5,000 per head payment from the state as down payment for the settlement of outstanding bonuses in excess of US$ 20,000.

This was after high-ranking government officials managed to convince the rebelling Black Queens to take the improved offer with the promise of final settlement at a future date.

Yusif Basigi’s side had refused to leave their designated hotel since returning from their triumph from the 2015 All Africa Games over unpaid bonuses running into years.

But the team has now agreed to leave the hotel in Accra for their various bases after taking the $5000 down payment following the intervention of President Mahama who is currently away in the US for the UN General Assembly.

“Promises have been made which is not coming from any person than the President,” captain Mercy Myles said.

“We are ok with it and will leave the hotel immediately."
