Winner: Leonardo Pavoletti

It seems Serie A may have its own Jamie Vardy! He’s certainly as feisty and as boisterous. His rise has been meteoric, seeing as he started his career at Serie D side Armando Picchi before moving slowly up the various Italian divisions.

This weekend Pavoletti was once again at his powerful and dynamic best scoring twice in Genoa’s 4-0 demolition of fellow relegation candidates Palermo.

Pavoletti scored two wonderful goals, including one scissor-kick volley. After the match his coach Gian Piero Gasperini said the former Sassuolo striker should be considered for an Italy call-up, and with five goals in his last three games it would be remiss of Antonio Conte to ignore the 27-year-old.
