Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he expects his Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong to kicking a ball at training next month.

Frimpong,18, was set for nine months on the sidelines after a cruciate ligament tear last August during a pre-season friendly against Legia Warsaw.

Wenger rued missing the ball-battling midfielder who was supposed to play a key role in the Gunners' season.

"You count nine months and it is now nearly six. He is close to running and in one month he should start to play in training," said the French gaffer.

Frimpong has openly declared his intention to represent the Ghana at the senior level after being capped several times at youth level for England.
