West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has revealed Andre Ayew could make a cameo against Chelsea tonight in the League Cup tie at the Olympic Stadium.

The 26-year-old is available for selection after returning from a thigh injury he picked up-coincidentally against the Blues- during their season opener at Stamford Bridge in August.

He was not selected for the weekend's 1-0 win over Sunderland despite having full scale training with the side.

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to ask co-chairmanGold whether Ayew will be in the frame.

He responded by first saying he hopes that Ayew will be in the squad tonight before adding that the attacker – who can play out wide or up front – should be available for selection after more than two months out.
