West Ham United are ready to let their forward Andre Ayew leave in the January transfer window.

Recent sources are claiming that the Ghanaian is not part of David Moyes’ plans and the manager is open to letting him go in order to boost his January transfer kitty. It is being reported that a fee of around £12m will be enough to convince West Ham to sell their 27-year-old forward.

Just six weeks ago, the Ghanaian international was the talk of the town when his two goals helped the Hammers secure a come from behind victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup. However, he has now been deemed surplus to requirements by West Ham boss, David Moyes.

Ayew signed for the Hammers in the summer of 2016 for a reported fee of £20m and has since gone on to make 42 appearances for West Ham in all competitions. During his time, the left-footed winger has scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists. He is also highly versatile and can play in a number of attacking positions.

Although his numbers at West Ham are good, yet his time in London has been underwhelming, to say the least. The Ghanaian has been plagued with injuries. He sustained a thigh injury just 35 minutes into his West Ham debut against Chelsea last season, which eventually kept him out for eight whole weeks.

The new recruits of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic in the summer has pushed him down the pecking order at West Ham and he’s now set to leave the club in January in search of greener pastures. Apparently, the Hammers were getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of productivity from the winger and they have finally run out of patience.

West Ham United are currently in 19th place in the Premier League standings, just three points off safety. Their new manager David Moyes has failed to turn the tide so far. With the arrival of some new faces in January, the West Ham boss would be hoping to turn their fortunes for the better. His main focus will now be to recruit well in January which might help them avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Ayew is undoubtedly talented and on his day, he can be a match-winner. He has incredible pace and a keen eye for goal which means that there won’t be any shortage of potential suitors willing to secure his signature. It remains to be seen which clubs show interest in the versatile winger when the transfer window opens next month.
