West Ham United forward Andre Ayew could not hide his delight for his former team mate Benjamin Mendy who has risen fast to become one of the highly rated left backs in French football.
Mendy kept a number on Rahim Sterling and was seen flooding forward like a jet at the least invitation to thwart Manchester City’s play.
After the game in which the high scoring French side progressed at the expense of City,Ayew took took to micro-blogging website twitter to congratulate his former Marseille team mate.
