Ghanaian youngster Christian Atsu Twasam scored the opener for Rio Ave who held Benfica to a 2-2 draw in the Portuguese Super Liga on Sunday night.
The 20-year-old sent an intelligent effort to beat Benfica goalkeeper Artur Moraes on eight minutes.
Nolito cancelled out Atsu's opened thirty minutes later before Cardozo converted a 40th minute penalty to put Porto 2-1 up.
But Yazalde rescued a point for Rio Ave with a 56th minute strike.
Atsu, on loan from giants FC Porto, has scored seven goals this season with Rio Ave sitting in 13th place.
